i found a large rock in the woods in WV. there was a crack on one side of it with little crystals growing in it. the other side is hollow (probley somewhere 2-6in. thick) . i was told that there might be some larger crystals in that cavity. but it is so deep in the woods we only has acces to hand tools and any thing we can carry
A hammer and chisel should work just fine.

If there is a tree nearby, rig up a rope/pulley thing. Over the rock, suspend a heavy weight. Have a knot or something on the rope so the weight will only fall to about halfway down the hieght of the rock. (you don't want to crush it)Using the pulley(s) to help lift the weight, bring it up over the rock. Let it fall as often as needed to break the rock.
