Question:

How can i increase the vacuum to my brake booster??

I have a big cam (not sure of the size) in my small block 350 in an 1982 Chevy truck, and i want to know how i can increase the vacuum to my brake booster because i have no brakes at all right nowI'm havin to pump them to regain some stopping powerAnd also what size stall converter should i use and about how much will one cost me.PLEASE HELP!!! Thanks

Answer:

A little research would have helpedThere are external vacuum pumps available, but I think you should just get the engine to idle properly firstThat would most likely help your problemFind out what cam you have, and what mods were done to justify that cam( not just has an aggressive idle') like carb and headers, heads, recurve the distMaybe it`s just a matter of relocating the vacuum pickup from the runner to the base of the carb, if no port available use a spacer, might also help the idle.
