The only things i can use are:Popsicle sticksAluminum FoilWax PaperStrawsAnd Tape (NOOO GLUE)lt;- my teacher wont let us.

On the very bottom of the pan, put a rack to set the bird on to keep it from sticking to the panThis also helps to keep the back skin from ending up greasyI just put some water in the bottom of the pan, with some onions and minced garlicI have a huge blue enamel roaster with a cover, which lets the bird get brown without drying out.
I usually spread a little vegetable oil or olive oil in the bottom of the roasting panThat keeps the bottom of the turkey from sticking to the pan, and it also gives you the beginning of the fat you can use to make your gravy afterwardsI don't know how much to tell you to use because I don't know the size of your panMaybe 1/4 cup? Then you can always add a few Tbsp of water as the turkey cooks, and then baste the turkey with the water/oil mixtureThat will help keep the turkey moist, tooI usually put a tinfoil tent over my turkey for the first half of the cooking time, so the skin doesn't get so darkThat helps moisten the turkey, too.

Because I have a degree in Culinary Arts I agree 1000% with the one who said to treat it like a big chickenThat's just what I doI put my chickens in a baking bagThey always come out moist and yes, the skin is nice and brownSince this is your first turkey, don't stuff itHowever, do make stuffingGet a can of chicken broth and use that in place of water for the stuffingFollow the directions on the boxI believe you're going to use like 1.5 Cups of water/12 ounces of water, and the can of broth is like 14.5 ounces, so you're going to have 2.5 ounces left overDO NOT add those extra 2.5 ouncesOh, and the stuffing is the very last thing you makeWhen everything else is ready, make the stuffing because it only takes 5 minutesGood luckIf you need anymore helpSend me an emailI love cooking and will be more than happy to help out with some really awesome recipes.
I pour about 1 cup water and 1/4 bottle of ruby port wine over the turkey and add 4-5 chicken bouillon cubes to the bottom of the panI baste the turkey every hour to an hour and a 1/2Then, halfway through, I pour another 1/4 of the bottle of port wine over the turkey The port wine makes a FANTASTIC homemade gravy!!! When the turkey is done, you can pour all the juice from the bottom into a pot, then dissolve about 6 tbscornstarch in 1 cup COLD water and add about 1/2 cup of the mixture into the potBring it to a low boil then continue to add more corn starch/water until it gets to the desired thickness (you want to at least add enough to make the oil layer on the top dissappear.if you need more than 1 cup just dissolve more cornstarch in cold water - usually 2 tbs per 1/4 cup)Then just add salt and maybe a bit more bouillon to taste Good luck!
