Question:

How can I remove the smell of vinegar from my pillowtop mattress?

My cat had a kidney infection and subsequently urinated on my mattress three timesThe first two times, I managed to use vinegar and baking soda just fine to get the smell out.The third time, however, I ended up with a strong vinegar smellMaybe not strong enough for everybody else to smell, but I can smell it on the blankets, myself, and my boyfriend.I've been able to smell it for weeks, it just won't fade away, and it won't come up no matter what I scrub it with.

Answer:

try a shoebox and aluminium foil and a coat hangercut a hole in the top of the box like 6x6 or something and line the inside with aluminium foil shiny side out then un ravel the cot hanger and stick it through the box and wala a solar cooker ]
InterestingVinegar is a natural cleaner and deodorizer and isn't supposed to have a smell when dryPerhaps you over soaked the mattress and still have some wet fibers? Could you be smelling the ammonia from the urine rather than the vinegar? Both are strong offensive odorsMaybe, after being sprayed 3 times, it's time for a new mattress and kitty to have a bed of his own.
