Question:

How can mice be discouraged from getting into machinery and nesting?

In a garage I store a saw that has some nooks and crannies that if not blown out with a high powered blower has caused the motor to cease up. They like to get into my riding mower during the winter also.

Answer:

Seriously, get a barn cat.
good night Poison them of bye enjoy your night
If they are mice and not gofers, I put d-Con were the pets cannot get to it. The mice will find it.
Glue traps, chemical hot foot ( it burns their paws when walked over it), predator urine, or a cat. Buy some plastic meshing that is fine enough to drape over the nooks and crannies so they can't fit through the mesh.
