You'll need a big panel of some kind and then get some solar stuff to put on it. Tadah!!!!
Depends on what you are trying to achieve. I had a solar panel that I used to heat the water in my pool. Just ran plastic piping from the filter pump to the roof - had a panel covered with plexiglass - black hose curled up inside - the water came back hot. I am guessing you want to generate electricity. I think that would be very difficult to achieve. You have to have the voltaic cells - each of which generates a small amount of electricity. I don't think you could make the cells but you could buy them and then build your pwn panels.
