I just moved into a rental house. After a few days I noticed several bites on me. I called the landlord. He said I must have brought the bed bugs with me. The problem is, I never had bed bugs before.
Bed bugs will get in walls and in things during the day and come out during the night. They can go a year with out eating.
Well. The landlord can't be 100% sure it was. Your fault maybe the bed bite may have been in the new apt. With out beening notice they are very same creatures.. what you can do is buy raid for bed bugs is a purple container or the bed bugs bombs that arre sold at wall mart or any store that usually sell raid.. don't worrie it may of not been your fault those creatures travel with ppl for a while n never be discover.. hope you good luck and act fast b4 they infest the apt.
Bed bugs can be brought in by several different means, but keep in mind that it's hard to identify any pest from just the bites alone, since a lot of house pests are able to bite. You cannot rely on the landlord telling you they are bed bugs, but instead, if you thoroughly inspect some key areas, you may be able to find evidence of a bed bug infestation. Bed bugs can hitch rides from so many different things. If you stayed in an infested hotel or a home that was infested with bed bugs, they can easily go into your luggage and make their way into your home. Bed bugs can also be carried in from secondhand materials (which usually happens) like secondhand furniture, especially mattresses, sofas, couches, and other pieces of furniture like tables and nightstands. You may have also brought them in from secondhand clothing. Bed bugs are a nuisance when you have them, but they're impossible to get rid of. Remember though, you should always identify a pest before applying any type of pesticide. It's potentially really harmful to you and the environment and it will all be in vain if you apply a bunch of bed bug products and later find out you have fleas.
Chances are the bugs were in the rented house before you moved in. I suggest cleaning all the bed covers thoroughly.
