Dangerous? no, unless you spill liquid on one of the power plug ins, some have an all night setting so if you fall asleep and that setting is selected then you stay warm all the timedone that and loved it :) See this link it just about tells all regardless of your country. /home-and-garden/h
If it were clutch, it would happen all the time. It sounds like you there may be something in either the fuel system or the alternator. Most likely something is just knocked out of allignment. Small shops could probably do it, but they would probably charge you diagnostic time as well.
