Question:

How do I clean my car carpets?

I have light gray carpet in my SUV I have tried several cans of stuff and nothing seems to work.Any suggestions?

Answer:

Rent yourself a regular carpet cleaner from a hardware store or a rental company. Make sure the carpet cleaner comes with a furniture attachment. I recommend using Oxi-Clean and a boiling water solution in the carpet cleaner and pretreat the really dirty areas with something equal to a 409 spray cleaner/degreaser first. The problem with all those other cleaners is that there still in the dirty carpet with the dirt. The best way to clean carpet is to wash it, rinse it, then let it dry, just like you do with anything else including but not limited to yourself, your clothes, and your dishes.prespray it with a degreaser, then steam clean it with the Oxi-Clean solution, because the dirt and the cleaner is extracted when your done. It may take two times now that there is so much crud and cleaner in the carpet. Also the hotter the water the better the cleaner will work, so I would recommend boiling the water before making your solution. GOOD LUCK!! IT SHOULD TURN OUT GREAT!! This is how the detailer at our car dealership does every car.
Take it to a detail-er (professional car cleaner, if he can't clean it. your going to have to replace the carpet). Buy mats if you want nice carpets, protection is better that trying to clean them later.
just take a bucket of soapy water and scrub it down. take the dome light fuse out, open all the doors and let it dry.
try some washing powder- but don't use too much warm water- then lots of clean damp rags and lots of gentle elbow grease- you will see the muck come off
