I have a 1-Zone forced hot water system in my home. In one room the baseboard travels the full length of two walls. For this reason, this room is much hotter than the rest. Is there a way to limit the heat coming from these baseboards? Perhaps wrapping the pipes with insulation?
You think that's bad? Tennessee has Gym Crow laws. You can't bring your bird with you to work out. Who's gonna spot me? I'm thinking of dropping my membership. Ok maybe not now but nest year!
As long as you have your alligator with you i don't think any cops are going to come up and give you a ticket.
A variety of baseboard radiators have been used over the years but the most popular hot water baseboard radiators are about 8-10 high, composed of copper pipe with aluminum disks attached (for heat transfer) and all encased in sheet metal. Most have a long metal damper (flap) that is hinged and can be folded down to cover all or a portion of the long, narrow gap where the warmed air exits the radiator. Closing or partially closing the damper limits air flow thus the amount of heat entering your room. This damper may not be completely visible to you because when it is wide open it tends to blend in well with the radiator. If the dampers do not exist or have been removed, heat flow can also be controlled by covering the copper pipe/aluminum disks with foil, or darn near anything else, to restrict air circulation. Hot water radiators do not get hot enough to start fires. There are other methods but they typically involve cutting, adding or subtracting piping.
