Ok so I'm trying to sneak out tonight but I just moved into a new house that has this alarm system so everytime you open a door or window it makes two beeping sounds that you can hear throught the house I'm leaving around 1:00 am and just in case this helps I live in Frisco, Texas and a lot of the houses have the same alarm incase any of you have the same type of alarm.
The coercivity of magnets will pass through rubber. The material is not at issue here but the thickness is. Force of course decreases with distance. (not sure but may be logarithmically)
Light has wave properties, and waves (sound is a good example) can be transferred through materials (although the wave is distorted and sometimes completely blocked out by thicker materials).
The furnace is not your problem. If your Carbon Monoxide detector doesn't go off then you are fine. If you don't trust it then get a more expensive one. If you still don't trust it then run a hose from your car muffler into your house and see if it goes off. If it goes off then you are golden!! If you don't have a car then use your moped. Buy an electric heater and you will have no worries..oh except an electrical fire that can kill you in your sleep, especially if your fire alarm isn't working. Not to mention the electric bill which might eventually drive you to suicide. You could just get an electric blanket, but those catch fire and melted goo sticks to your skin. I know get a lap dog and stuff him in your sleeping bag. Hopefully he doesn't have any diseases or worms that will transfer. Get a flea shot. Find yourself a fat chic to curl up with. Stuff styrofoam in all of the windows. Seal all of the cracks around the foors and doors. Dress warm and leave the heat off all winter.
