I have Pergo flooring in my kitchen. a couple pieces in the middle have chipped. any suggestions on how to go about fixing this?? do i need to completely pull up the flooring.? looking for a trick of the trade. :-)thanks in advance
Other than gluing the chips back in place, the next reasonable solution is to deconstruct the floor to the chipped pieces and rearrange the tiles with the chips somewhere not in the middle, or replace them altogether. If counters were placed on top of the floor, this would be a lot harder.
If you don't have a piece of left over flooring when the floor was laid go to the flooring store and get a piece that matches. While at the store, get a kit used to fill in cracks that match your flooring. Carefully, cut in the middle of the chipped board and remove it, don't rush, you don't what to make a bigger mess. You are going to try to make the new board fit into the old space. You may need to shave one of the edges to make it fit. Each board has a male and female side, trim the male side, take your time. I can be done.
The material is a laminate. It is like trying to repair a kitchen counter top. It cannot be done. The easiest thing would be to put an area rug over the chips.
the a million/4 inch is so necessary, if the floor has been those days put in it ought to be the boards themselves. if something with the locking tounge and groove seems unusual, if there are coming aside which would be a illness interior the boards. additionally you're think to permit the floor take a seat interior the room it is going in for 40 8 hours earlier to place in. if this wasnt accomplished this is extra desirable than probably the undertaking. it wouldnt harm to call up the enterprise and verify on the guaranty and all that..... in case you acquire some 50 cent stuff than there is your undertaking proper there.
