How do I keep sheets and blankets from pilling up in the laundry?
Hobby dinners are always fun and easy, heavy duty foil with a hamburger patty or a thin chicken breast nestled in thin sliced potatoes and cut up veggies like corn, carrots, peas, some salt pepper and maybe BBQ sauce or wine or beerWrap foil tightly and place on hot coals about 12 minutes each sideHint-use packaged frozen vegiies and put foil dinner together at homeFroze veggies helps keep meat coldIf you want to do it right get a cast iron or aluminium dutch oven and make breakfast, lunch, dinner or dessertAnd I mean real food like cassaroles, pies, cakes biscuits, cobblers, roastsOr take a clean coffee can, spray some oil in itLine bottom with refrigerated biscuit or crusant doughAdd enough eggs to cover, some sliced ham, maybe thin sliced oinion and some shredded cheese.dig a whole in hot coals and place the can in the hole so that it is NOT sitting on coals and the coals around it are not touching the can but very closePut some foil over the can and cook about 12 minutesWhen egg whites are solid white and yols are starting to get think it's doneTry the dutch oven, you will amaze your campmates.
Don't wash them on a heavy duty cycle in the washerAnd, don't wash them with items that are of a heavier weight than they are (i.ejeans, towels, sweatshirts) Often it is the rubbing against or agitation that makes fabric pillAlso, put some tennis balls in the dryer with them to keep them moving freely and to help dry them fasterRemember the higher the thread count on sheets, the less likely they are to pillWith blankets, the higher the percentage of natural fiber (i.ecotton) vs synthetic fiber (acrylic) the less likely they are to pill.
Smores, canned beans, weeks supply of Taco Bell
I learned this in girl scoutsTake a hamburger patty and put it in a piece of tin foilSlice a potato and onion and put them on top of the hamburger pattyThrow in campfire coals and cook about 20 minutes, if I remember correctlyYou could make lots of variations to this as well.
You can buy this thing called a hobo pie maker It's cast iron and it has a long handle with a clasp and it opens upBasically you put 2 pieces of bread and filling and it makes little pie type thingsWe do pizza ones every time we go campingYou just spray the maker with pam, then put one piece of bread, spead some pizza sauce, sprinkle with cheese, put some pepperoni and then the other piece of breadClose the maker and stick it down into the coals of your campfireWait about 2 minutes and flip it overAfter another 2 minutes, pull it out and check to see if the bread is toasted enough for youIf not, stick it back into the coals for another minute or soYou don't have to make pizza, you can put anything in themwe've done ham cheese, sloppy joe, canned pie filling works great for dessert ones, too!
