My agent set me up for a minor improv gig for my first acting experience on film. I was told it will be an easy position, but I want to be as prepared as possible so I can put my name out in the movie industry, and start building a respectable portfolio. The name of the piece is quot;Poor Little White Guy and The Ghetto Boyzquot;. I was told it was a quot;gay for payquot; position, so I am assuming I will be preforming satire on racial indifference in the slums and homosexuality. How can I be best prepared? I want to be in major motion pictures someday, and maybe even on Broadway!
LOL. Your minor improv gig is a gay porn film. How to be best prepared? Be prepared to get naked and be penetrated anally and orally, multiple times. That's pretty easy, right? FYI -- this acting experience will not lead to major motion picture offers or a Broadway role, and this film will not be something to include in a respectable portfolio. Just sayin' ....
You mean you want to P E R F O R M. The E comes before the R. Practice your slum lingo. Maybe West Side Story will give you some clues about dialog. It, however, is set in NYC. if this one is set elsewhere, the lingo might vary. Go in with a more open mind about what they might be looking for. And improv often wants humor. They may tell you all the moves to make, but you may need to IMPROVISE as well since this is IMPROV.
Sounds to me like you haven't even seen a script. Either you're full of **** about this story or someone is being very un-professional OR this is a really lame non-union gig. Something is wrong here.
