26 x 0.02584 = 0.67 (26 only has 2 sig figs so you would only use 2 in the answer) 15.3 / 1.1 = 14 (1.1 has 2 sig figs so you would only use 2 in the answer) 782.45 - 3.5328 = 778.92 (782.45 has 2 after the decimal so you would only use 2 after the decimal in the answer) 63.258 + 734.2 = 797.5 (734.2 has 1 after the decimal so you would only use 1 after the decimal in the answer) ok, here are the simple rules for significant figures... multipilcation divison - use the same number of sig figs as the number with the least sig figs. addition subtraction - look at the number with the least sig figs after the decimal and use that same number after the decimal. If you don't understand how to find the # of sig figs ask you teacher or look it up google. (sig figs = significant figures)
