If your boiler pressure is 3.4 when it is hot, thats okay. If this is the pressure when it is cold, then you can open a bleed vale to let water out until it shows between 1 and one and a half bar. Water expands as it is heated, that is why you get a higher reading when the boiler is hot.
You can just drain from the radiator bleed screw, holding a pan to catch the water. By the time you've filled a pan at most 5 mins the pressure will have dropped. There are a couple of drain points on the boiler as well which would be quicker but if you touch the wrong thing you might have problems. If the pressure increases a lot when the heating comes on then the boiler needs some attention. Milli Tant has given you wrong information the two taps left and right are both used in filling the boiler.
