I have tried hot sauce. I have to cover all my wires with car wire covers.
It's probably just a quirk for the cat. We have a Maine Coon that chews things as well.
The only way is to hide the wires
i have had the same problem with norwegian forest cats crosses and my seven week old kittens are doing it now. i have wrapped them in tin foil at the moment it is working. my sister used bitter apples on her wires which also worked.
My cats did that too for some time when they were very young. You might need to consider hiding wires - there are covers available in hardware stores (Home Depot has a lot of them). If you can't it would be best to spray them with something cats dislike - citrus smell would do or a repellent from a pet store. It works fine. A bottle would cost you max. 4-5$ and it will last for a while. And by no means do not hit your cats as some other suggested - gee, hit them instead (no, just kidding). if you raise your voice and say NO to your cat as she tries to chew on wires she will eventually learn it is not a good thing to do. All of the above methods worked on my 2 cats - now I leave them home alone and no cables are touched - and I have a lot of wires.
Get this stuff at a store called no-more-wires and then spray it on the wires the cat will stop because it tastes bad
