Question:

How do I stop my microplush blanket from spreading lint all over my bed?

I washed it and dried when I bought itSo the morning after the first time use, I woke up with lint and fuzz all over the my bed and on my PJs! Did I wash it improperly? Do all mircoplush blankets make a linty mess?

Answer:

Mine does it tooTotally normalHe is thinking he is getting milk from his mother at timesYour cat was probley weened too earlyIt is fine if you wash itJust don't froget to give it backYou don't really want to stop this behavier because it is reminding him of his motherIt is fineBetter to not stop it then to stop it.
My cat does the same thing!!! this is because the cat thinks that the blanket is his/her motheri wouldnt worryI dont!
I had a cat that would suck and chew on teddy bearsShe had her own teddy bear that she would do this to regularly, but if she saw a different one of similar softness/fluffyness, she'd chew on him tooSo my guess is that your cat will still recognize his blanket and want it after you wash itI don't know about getting him to stop thoughMy fiancee used to have a cat that would sit on your lap and suck your clothing, so that when you looked down you suddenly had a huge wet spot on you! He tried to get her to stop but she'd only do it more fervently, poor kittyShe did finally stop on her own after she had a little of kittens though.
I have three kittens that are now 7 months old but still live with their mum because we are keeping them, the youngest is still sucking and kneading his cat bed before he goes to sleep, as his mum no longer gives him cuddles or fuss, we have put this down to the fact that its comforting and makes him feel closer to his mum, I don't think there is a certain age that it will stop as his brother and sister never did thisIs your kitten maybe one of the youngest in the litter? As this could also be a reason for them to continue for longer x
Bring it back to the store it will never stop shedingIt is defective the fibers should not be snapping like that and to make it worse your no inhaling themThe polyester microlights made in china are notorious for this.Get something else.
