How do we dry clean a sofa?
I have tried products you can buy, with no good results, so my advice is to get it professionally cleaned.
When fabric says dry clean only you need to heed that directive if you don't want to damage your furniture. But dry cleaning usually makes you think of heat or steam, both of which may be harmful to your sofa and the fabric with which it is covered. To keep your sofa from being damaged while cleaning it at the same time, there are two options you can try first at home.
Dry Cleaning is not really dry. It uses chemicals rather than soaking an item in water (although water is still a big part of the process) So... to clean a sofa rent a carpet shampooer at a home store or grocery and be sure to get the upholstery attachment and the special fluid for upholstery. I always use a stain remover to spot bad areas. It will take some time to dry completely so do not use it for about 24 hours.
