I have been watching tons of online videos on how to clean inline skate bearings, but none seem to be using the same bearings mine have. I have a pair of Rollerblade Activa 8.0 with SG9 bearings. It does not look like they can come apart the same way the others do to me. Any suggestions?
Cleaning Rollerblade Bearings
The shields are crimped on. They can't be serviced. You have to get new ones. Bones Reds are high quality serviceable bearings. Head over to a local skateboard shop and get a set. They are sold 8 bearings to a box. You will need 2 boxes if you have 8 wheels on your skates.
Stiffle it Red and stop trying to sell your products (lame). First take your bearings and put them in a pyrex or metal container and place in the oven at 250 degress and let the thick greese come out. this will speed up your skates by 25%. After that, spray them with wd-40 until the bearings are free flowing. then with a hairdryer, dry the wd40 so it is all gone. After cooling, spray with Heavy Duty Silicon Spray (greese attracts dirt and slows things down, Silicon is light weight and non restrictive element that will speed things up.
