I had done this at my house for my xboxBut i am a electrician so I have alot of experiance with this type of stuffthe heat or other electrical wires will not interfare with the cat5yes the do make the connectors for connecting two cat 5 cables together, how good they work in the heat and cold weather i'm not too sure1 you could drill holes in the attic, you have to find where the walls are that you want the cable to be in and drill the holes therethey are 2X4's usuallybut its kinda hard to fish the cable down the wall2 poke a hole in the celing with a coat hanger and drop the wire down that way yes it will be visable but you can get some type of molding to hide the wire if you want to if not staple it to the wall and paint over it the same color of the walls your in for a project and youll need some good help.
answers to your question 1u can buy a long ethernet wire from radio sack u dont have to worry about the size2.why do you need cable all you need is the ethernet wire from the router or modem to xbox3.no the heat will not bother itit will be fine4.no its saferubber on rubber5the only other way is to call your internet provider and have them move the router or modem to where the xbox is.what they will do is to install a wireless adopter on your computer (in the living room) the computer is going to connect wireless and your xbox is going to use a regular ethernet wirethis should cause less than $70if you with comcast it may be free depending on if you have a service protection plan or they charge you $30-$50 for moving it.am not realy sure about price but think is free either way just plan on spending about $506.yeshope this helped
