I know how to bleed brakes, but is their a good way to fill brand new brake lines? Thanks!
No need to buy any tools. Better with two people, one topping up the reservour with fluid and one squeezing the break leaver. First pump until you feel some resistance then slow down until you see the fluid running out of your callipers without any air bubbles in. Must make sure that the nipple you have loosened is not too loose but not so tight that the resistance is too great. Do each calliper seperately and you may need to go back to the first one again. Don't forget the rear one either. Seperate line but the same process. One warning Break fluid is highly corrosive so don't spill any on your paint work!!!
Harbor freight has a one man bleeder kit- basically a plastic bottle with 4 sizes tubing that fits on bleeder tip. I've used just plain plastic tubing at caliper and had end higher than master cylinder. Whatever- set tube on caliper bleed screw tip, slow squeeze master cylinder lever so brake fluid comes out and bubbles into tube or cup, release lever and fluid minus air sucks back into caliper. do this a few times keeping master cylinder reservoir cup full. When no more bubbles come out and a little fluid stays in tube, then close bleeder screw
Uncle Jed is the guy! they're as he stated, needless to say! different formulations will no longer play first-fee with Dot 3-4 do no longer use them!! remember Brake fluid is hydroscopic meaning it sucks up moisture from the ambience like a sponge. substitute your fluid a minimum of as quickly as a 300 and sixty 5 days on the of using season. in no way use fluid from an open can. save removed from chlorine!! All Hail Uncle Jed with a thumbs up!!
