Question:

How do you manually level a mobile home with clear plastic tubing?

I heard I could level my mobile home by using clear plastic tubing and red drink mix. Is that possible, and if so, how?

Answer:

Yes its possible because water will always find exact level and its one of the easiest and cheapest ways to level a large structure
fill the tubing and have someone hold the tubing at one corner of the home outside. have them tell you when the level of the liquid is at the height of the trailer edge. where the liquid is at your end is where the height of the trailer should be to be level...easier to rent a cheap transit... edit: i guess 30 years of using one is easier than explaining how...
let me take a guess, because i'll be honest, when i first read your question i had no idea....... but i think i've got it. put some red drink in a tube, cap both ends, lay it on the floor, and go outside and jack up the corners untill the drink mix doesn't all flow to one side. i guess you could lay the tube the whole length of the home acting as a giant level. of course this method leaves out the whole concept of what you use to prop up the corners, but I'm pretty sure you don't use the clear tubing and kool aid for that:)
This is a very good way to level things over long distances. You do not necessarily need the red drink mix, but food coloring may work better to help see the liquid level. What you would do is set one of the corners of your mobile to where you want it. Next hold the tubing with water inside it so that the water level is even with the bottom of this corner you just set. have a friend take the other end of tubing to another corner of the mobile home and raise or lower the trailer so that the bottom of their corner is also at the top of the water level. you can continue this with each corner until the whole mobile home is level.
you want to use clear plastic tubing with red drink mix in it as a level.Be sure to put a curve in the tubing so the bubble will rise to apex.Use a cork at either end to hold mix and check the level with a level altho the extra length of the tubing will make it hard to get it right.Or you could use a long 2x4 with a level on top to achieve the same results.Make sure the 2x4 is straight.Or just set the level to the floor rails underneath the trailer and jack corners until it's level.
