I have a maths test coming up soon and one thing i have to do is be able to multiply out brackets, how do you do this?!EXAMPLE:2(x+2) -3
When you have a number outside brackets and next to the brackets, it means that you multiply that number by everything that is inside the brackets. Things are separated by + or - signs. Eg in 3(x + 4) there are 2 things inside the brackets, x and 4. So you multiply the number outside the brackets by both the x and the 4. Which is: 3 times x and 3 times 4. This is:3x + 12. If you had 4(2 - 5y), then you would multiply the 4 by each thing inside the brackets: 4 x 2 - 4 x 5y 8 - 20y This rule always works. Good luck
