Question:

How to get rid of burnt carpet?

Well we kind of had a little mis hap and we accidently got a burning piece of paper on the ground. The paper was burning and went onto the carpet and we cleaned all the ash up and now there is a dirty ashy looking stain on the carpet. How do you get rid of it? I don't mean by buying another carpet, is there anything that could get it out of the carpet? Thank you.

Answer:

It sounds like the carpet fibers have been burned. If so, you can't repair those fibers, but you can fix the problem with a Carpet Transplant: 1. Cut the marked area out using a razor knife or a single-edged razor blade. Be careful to cut only the carpet, not the padding under it. You can buy either of these products at most hardware stores. 2. Cut a piece of replacement carpet from a place no one will ever notice, like from inside a closet. 3. Put the RUINED piece on a piece of paper and trace around it. This will be your template for the new piece. Cut this out and use it as a pattern. You want an exact match in shape. 4. Glue the replacement piece of carpet in place using waterproof glue. Attach it to the padding underneath. Or you can sew it into place by sewing it to the existing carpet. (You will need a curved needle if you sew it in place.) The repair should be invisible when you're done. -

if the carpet isn't burnt use a vacuum cleaner. the stuff should be dry and you might need to go over it with the cylinder part. Failing that, get a rug doctor, got the stains from my bong water out of my parents white carpet once saved me getting murdered, then reincarnated by them so they could murder me again!
clean the spot well and let it dry. Then go to the edges of the carpeting and snip some fibers. put glue on the spot and place those fibers. Small amounts at a time let dry for an hour then add more. Should camouflage it well
Snip away the dead carpet using fine manicure scissors and tweezers. You want to remove only the dead (bunt) carpet and nothing more. Surly not inch by inch more like millimeter by millimeter! After removing all the dead carpet. Find an unnoticeable area in the carpet such as the back of a closet and remove bits of good carpet using the same method. Try taking samples from multiple areas. Roll the new samples up to fit the hole, apply carpet glue to the base of the hole. Careful not to get any glue on undamaged fibers. Place the samples onto the glue cover with a piece of paper and a heavy book. Allow to dry for several hours. Remove the book and paper and blend the carpet with a wide tined comb. Also if there are singed but not burnt area try using a solution of 2 parts hydrogen peroxide 10 parts water. Dabbed the solution on the fibers spray with water and dab dry with a paper towel. Wait until the area is thoroughly dry before proceeding with gluing in new carpet samples.
