I love Bates Motel but I'm just scratching my head like WTF? I'm not being racist but Marion Crane wasn't black in Psycho but okay I'll take it. I guess they may have to find a black actress for Lily Crane. My goodness I don't mean to sound racist but maybe they should've got Maitland McConnell to play Marion. I don't know maybe it's me.What's is your opinion on this?
There are a hundred great black actresses they could put in the role if that's what it was about. They hired a NON-ACTRESS. Has she ever acted in her life? CAN she act? I know they're doing it for ratings but she better be able to pull this off.
I'm alright with it, the Marion Crane character is actually someone Rihanna should play really well, she's a rogue(Marion), and in a modern version, you need to have someone who can do that credibly. Rihanna's more expressive, more aggressive personality will be better than Maitland, Maitland is very much the slasher-bait so far in her movies, Marion Crane has more potential than that.
