Question:

How do you remove spackle from carpet?

The hotel I work at is doing some major renovations. One of our flooring contractors left spackle foot prints all over our BRAND NEW carpet. How do you remove it without damaging the carpet?

Answer:

Scrap off as much as you can, then vacuum.
break them up with a hammer, vacum and remove the rest with a damp rag, works every time
Get as much up as possible while it's dry, once it gets wet it's going to stain and be a mess. You'll probably end up steam vacuuming it up in the end.
Vaccum the carpet first and then spray resolve (its a carpet cleaner and you can buy it at grocery markets) spray on it. Let it set for just a little while then blot it out. Do not rub as you would rub it more into the carpet. I would use paper towels (white preferred) to use to blot. Good Luck!
