I am not familiar with paperclay. But if it is anything other than just plain old clay like used for pottery, I would say no. If you do not have to fire it in a kiln it is out. However, if your aim is to make a decorated bowl, you could get some pipe or tubing fittings at a hardware store, assemble the pipe, and build the clay sculpture around it.
Why not just try to 'sneak' out doors? Maybe 75% chancedepending on where alarm and window are located.
