These people are both wrong, you use a bag at home to trap in the heatHeat makes hair dye process faster, but you can just blow dry your hair to get the same effectFoil is used when we highlight so the colored areas do not touch and dye the rest of your hair.
They put aluminum foil on the pan and probably coat it with PAM or butter or somethingthen put it in the oven after some minutes when one side is kinda cooked they flip it to cook the other side.
People use the bags to prevent the leakage of the color onto your clothesbut also to speed up the coloring process by keeping your head warm.
Everyone here is a little rightThe foil is used to isolate the highlights but it also conducts heat when processed under a dryer and keeps the color from drying out (also when using heat) Plastic bags are used to keep heat in and also to keep the color from drying outYou would never process a color under a heated dryer without a bag.it would dry out in spots and not process evenly.
