I'm without a car, but I'm not going to let winter hold me down. All year I bike in rain and wind, and I want safe ice riding. I've rode 8 miles both ways in windy conditions with over 3 inches of snow on the street. That was on a crummy mountain bike, and I didn't fall once. But I had to bike at a quarter of my usual speed, and be paranoid about my balance and tire traction.This year, I have a road bike and a better mountain bike, and I'm considering studded tires. I'd like to continue biking my average speed safely over snow and ice. Question is: If the snow melts and the street is bare, will it wear down the studs? I'd rather not lay down $120 just to have the studs be temporary.
Where did you get the silly idea that stealth satellites are black? That would NEVER work! Take a look at just about any satellite or spacecraft, and if anything they are covered in highly reflective materials like aluminized or gold coated Mylar or Kapton, to maintain thermal control. A totally black satellite would fry itself! Stealth in this usage normally refers to hiding an object from sensors like radar or infrared detectors. To answer your question, amateur astronomers have managed image of large satellites like the ISS against the moon, by being at exactly the right place and taking the image at exactly the right time. This obviously requires that the orbit of the spacecraft be very precisely known. The probability of accidentally imaging a spacecraft against the moon or sun is very close to zero.
Satellites are TOO SMALL to be seen from that distance. You would need a telescope, but then, if you knew where to look, you COULD see them. Kinda like trying to see a housefly on a window two miles away. Better still, use radar, which can see just about everything. But Stealth Satellites are designed, like stealth airplanes, to reflect only a VERY small amount of radar back to the ground, and so appear to be MUCH smaller, and much harder to see with radar.

Actually, stealth normally refers to radar and electronic reflections although most planes are dark to avoid specular reflections and hey, there's a plane up there Of course, a dark satellite would show up going across the moon (very hard to see against the sun) but since the usefulness of such a satellite would be having it near the earth, it would be crossing very fast and hard to optically spot.
Possibly if it passed directly in front of the bright object but you'd also see it if the angle between the Sun and the Earth was right so the sunlight reflected off the solar panels. If someone wanted to make a stealth satellite (and I'm not saying such things exist or don't exist, I frankly don't care) they would have to make it very small so its radar profile was low and very little light would reflect off it and they would have to power it by RTG (radioisotope thermoelectric generator) not solar panels and if they did that it would be hard to spot even if it passed in front of a bright object unless you were actively looking for it.
