I can get a real good deal on an Acer 22 LCD monitor. I have a Samsung 19 which I am happy with, no bad pixels, good color etc. How happy are you with your Acer LCD monitor?
Acer is not a brand that is known for reliability. Rather, it is known for value. I have several of my friends who have had their laptops/monitors/desktops break down, more so than other brands. The same could be said about Gateway. Other brands do break down, but not often. I think that I would skip that Acer, and look around for other monitors of similar price. You might actually be able to get a better brand for the same price. Look in the ads (READ FINE PRINT) for better deals.
Get an old CRT (heavy tube monitor). They have better broad angle viewing, and better contrast gradient than modern flat panels. You could try using a large HDTV as a screen. Most of those have a fairly broad view angle. Best would be a video projector. Those have a very wide angle, depending upon the surface that is projected upon.
well acer is the cheapest. and i feel that you get out of the monitor what you pay for it. the size alone is gonna be great. but if you want the best quality you will prolly have to go higher
