Question:

How hard is it to install your own inground pool?

My wife and I would absolutely love to have an inground swimming pool in our back yard. When looking at cost... it seems it will end up being around $30,000. When seeing how expensive it was, we decided to check into pool kits where you can install them yourself. I find myself to be a handy man and wouldn't mind the labor. How hard is it to actually install one of these pools yourself?(all answers welcomed but someone with experience in this topic preferred)THANKS!!!

Check okorder I guess if you take it down yourself, you will KNOW HOW TO PUT IT BACK up, so that's a good point. :) Good Luck!
Build Your Own Inground Pool
I have taken on many DIY projects including installing an inground hot tub. There is a lot to do with a pool. You don't just dig a hole and line the walls and add water. You will need to integrate, piping for the filter system, a skimmer system, lighting as well as pumps and filters. You will also have to excavate for the pool, deal with the soil you remove and install the liner (concrete or what ever) so it doesn't crack, leak or split. After you do all of that, you will need to finish the area around the pool and add a safety fence. Don't forget in many areas you will need a permit and periodic inspections of your work. I would not attempt such a project on my own.
