i just built my brand new gaming rig with 560 gtx, 8 gb ram, and a 2500ki wanted to test everything full load and what caught my eye was the cpu running at NINETY-EIGHT DEGREES CELSIUS through prime 95.this is all stock hsf and i have 4 120mm fans throughout.yes i put on thermal paste.wtf is up!

Yeah that's too hotHonestly I would keep it under 72C and definitely below 80CWhat's strange though is that you said you put on thermal paste, but the Intel stock cooler already comes with paste pre-applied, so did you put even more paste on or clean it then reapply? Perhaps you didn't put on enough, or maybe too much? Also I would just get a cheap cooler like the CM 212+ because you can get it for around $20-$30 and it packs quite a bit of punch for the price, and then you could even overclock it a little if you wanted toOF actually these CPUs don't throttle down until they reach 100C I believeSo this makes sense, it's probably throttling down and that's what is keeping it just under 100C.
