How important is cache size in laptops?
Same as in any other form of PC : (for speed) A CPU cache is a cache used by the central processing unit of a computer to reduce the average time to access memory. The cache is a smaller, faster memory which stores copies of the data from the most frequently used main memory locations. regards, Philip T
How important is cache size in general, not just with laptops? Err, size doesn't matter! LOL hehe, that's the last spec (no pun intended) that you should be looking at. 512KB or 1MB is pretty much the standard today. But instead of worrying about cache, worry about the model CPU you're talking about. The Core 2 Duo, for example, will smoke just about any other CPU out there cache size aside!!
Cache size only has to do with quickly retrieving sites that you have already visited, but I would set it to about 10% of your total hard drive space. It does not matter if the computer is a laptop or desktop.
