How is iron bought? How do you break down iron bars etc. into its raw form? Or is anything made of solely iron considered to be in it‘s raw form? Thanks.
The original form of iron is iron ore, it is mined from the ground, and then has to be smelted to create iron ingots, which are kind of like bars. So if you already have an iron ingot or bar, you can't make it go back to iron ore - all you can do is either melt it and change it to some other shape, or refine it further to create steel. As far as how you buy iron, you can buy it as ingots/bars that were smelted from iron ore, or you could buy it as iron that was recycled from scrap iron that was melted and formed back into ingots/bars.
