Question:

How is it that items I purchase from different manufacturers (yarn, clothing, fabric) match perfectly color-wise

Is this driven by the color institute that selects fashionable colors for all consumer items or are there only so many dyes to choose from for fabricSome examples of what I mean: I recently knitted a scarf with one yarn, went looking around the house for more and found a different kind, same exact colorMany of my kids clothing purchased this year from different retailers match perfectlyI've bought many remnants of fabric online and again, different manufactures, yet the same color palettes each time, nearly identicalHow is this determined?

Answer:

They could have been made at the same independent sewing shop and have different label put on themI know a shop is South Carolina that sews for several different companies and make the same things but puts different labels on them.
Why would you be gluing yarn to yarn? That sounds weirdBut any glue will work to hold it next to another yarnIf you are looking for strength, you never use glue!!! If you would tell us why you are trying to glue yarn together, we can give you alternatives.
