Call the township or the police.. They have to do something about it!
In the UK, we have local councils who are responsible for roads. Do you have something similar in the US? You should contact someone in the local authority about your concerns of people speeding on the road and the possibility of children being put in danger. It might take a bit of campaigning, but if you can show that it is a real problem, you might have a chance of doing something about it.
*****That is a terrible loss. I recently lost our cat, and it really traumatized the whole family. Pets are part of the family. As for the road issue, you will want to have your local police and/or politicians address this dangerous situation. If they don't act upon your first request, perhaps you could start a petition with others in the neighborhood to have radar traps, speed bumps, or some other option put into effect. God forbid a child were struck! I pray it doesn't come to that! Good Luck!
