Question:

How long will this smoke detector squeak?

Hi, I was woken up by my smoke detector this morning, and it keeps squeaking like once every 30 seconds. I know that this means that the battery needs to be replaced, but I do not have access to any batteries until later. I took out the batteries for right now. Will the squeaking stop any time soon, or will I just have to stay up all night?

Answer:

Others are right. Just wear comfortable casual shirt, jeans, or any other long pants and closed toed shoes (tennis shoes or comfortable work boots) . Expect to get dirty. A sack lunch of your choice (coolers are usually acceptable) and water. After the first few days on the job you will have a lot better idea of what to wear and what you need to bring. Bug spray and sunscreen will probably not be needed to start with unless you burn very easily.
That happens with my blanket to, whenever I use it and my dog goes under the blanket it lights up and looks really creepy at night. It could be the material it is made out of or maybe washing it could help.
Strong boots. or invest in a pair of safety-toe sneakers., The best gloves that you can afford, decent sweat-shirt with a plain Tee under it, shorts are not a great idea for strimming as your legs will get peppered. long socks if you do. Get a large thermos with an iced drink in it , heat exhaustion can be nasty. No reason not to have block and repellent in your back-pack, carry a tube of anti-septic as well. Always have a good folding knife on you, they come in so useful all the time. wear a hat , but leave the head-set off until you are in the team and sure of your job. Just wear your best listening and learning ears for a while. Oh, and find out where the lavatories are first thing.
