How many light days in a light year? A. 365.B. 366.C. about 365.25
A. Because we measure a light year using earth years. An earth year is 365 days long, and so a light year is how far light travels in one earth year.
A light year is the distance light will travel in a year. It is a long way.
C. The actual year is just about 365 1/4 days, which is why we have leap years. It is not exactly, which is why we don't have leap years in 1900, 2100, 2200, or 2300, but did in 2000 and will in 2400.
#1 A light year is 9,460,730,472,580,800 meter. #2 The speed of light is 299,792,458 meter/sec. #3 A light year is #1/#2 = 3,155,760 light-second. #4 An average solar day is 24 hour = 86,400 sec. #5 A light year is #3/#4 = 365.25 light day.
