How many sq.ft. Of sod per pallet?
A standard pallet is 40 X 48 inches. If the pallets you have are not standard, they're basically worthless. Pallets makers usually use ribbed nails, so tearing them apart for firewood is a pain in the butt. If you have standard 40X 48's, the first consideration is condition. The second consideration is quantity. If you show up at the pallet yard with five or 10 good pallets, expect to get somewhere around 5 bucks apiece.
This Site Might Help You. RE: How much can you get for wood pallets?
There are different types of pallets. Some are designed to be picked up from any side by a forklift and unless they are broken are intended to be reused. If you legally own this type they can be sold, but the price varies widely depending on where you live and who you are selling them to. There are single use pallets that do get reused while they are in good condition, but it's pretty common for them to be discarded. A recycler might buy them if they are not broken. Otherwise the pallets could be sold to people for firewood and/or kindling but the buyer would probably have to dictate the price. And yes, you can be arrested for stealing pallets if they were intended for reuse or the business has a contract with a recycler.
1 to 2 years if you get caught stealing them.
