You may going to like the answer, but a pallet of sod usually covers about 500 square feet, so that means that you would need about 53 pallets in order to cover that entire area. You gave your yard dimensions, did you take into account, your house and any landscaping or other areas which will not need grass? In order to do the figuring yourself, square footage is length times width. Figure out the total area then divide by 500 and that will give you the number of pallets required.

It is always recommended to lay sod within 24 hours of delivery. Obviously you can't do that if it is pouring. like the other people said, water will keep it better than drying it out. I would check with the sod supplier and ask how they feel about putting a tarp over it? Some rain is good, but too much may not be. You are probably going to have to wait a day or two until you lay it after the rain stops as well. Might be quite messy and muddy. Good luck to you
