I have a 81' Honda CB650 with 8,700 miles and I need to get the front brakes replaced and the fluid drained, how much do you think this will cost from a dealer?
properly, they are not adjustable. Do you recommend the pads? Caliper? Rotor? lines or grasp cylinder? each and all the above? can no longer fairly pin it down till you recognize what this is you like.
Depends on the dealer. It is a simple process, you could probably just buy the pads and do it yourself. Without knowing your dealer, it could run between $100 and $300.
Do not legally hold me to this but no. If all that is wrong is that your ABS won't work then at times your brakes will lock up under severe braking.
What does the shop mean by a new ABS System? That's a pretty vague answer. Take it to a Ford Dealer and have them do a proper diagnostic on the system. ABS (automatic braking system) is a safety enhancement, lots of cars/trucks don't have it. It prevents the wheels from locking up and putting you into a skid/go out of control if you slam on the brakes in an emergency (a natural reaction.) They are standard equipment on a lot of newer cars.
