Question:

How much for 98 Accord Transmission?

How much can I expect to pay to get a new transmission for my 98 Honda Accord? I don‘t want one from a junk yard.

Answer:

1998 Accord Transmission
Honda sells remanufactured automatic transmissions through the honda dealers in the US. I don't think you can buy a new transmission in the US as Honda only has the remanufactured line available. They call the transmissions factory remanufactured because they re-use the exterior transmission case and replace all of the parts on the inside with all new parts. In the US the retail price for a remanufactured transmission for the 1998 Accord is in the vicinity of $1500-1800 depending on the model of the transmission plus installation labor if you have them install it. The transmissions are warranted for 3 years by Honda in the US. You may be able to get a new transmission if you insist on paying for one but you probably have to go through a special order process; I had to do that once on a new Ridgeline where a customer broke the transmission case in an accident when the vehicle had under 100 miles and the customer insisted his insurance company pay for a new transmission. That transmission was over $6000. That's why most people go with the factory remanufactured transmissions if your car is a manual transmission those can usually be rebuilt for about $1000 by any competent dealer. A new manual transmission is available for around $1800 hope that helps
