Question:

how much is it gonna cost for this motorcycle?

im buying an old motorcycle from a friend and it needs a little work. it needs new mirrors, turning signals, and brake lamps.how much is it gonna cost to get this bike street legal again???

Answer:

I usually get between 3000 and 8000 on a tire depending on bike and how hard I ride it. I would say you are right in the ballpark. Your not going to get a huge amount more tread wear on a harder compound tire, but you will get some. Personally I wouldn't do it they don't have the same grip as a softer compound.
go to a junk yard and pick up the parts for cheap.
We'd need the make, model and year of the bike to even start to give you an answer!
Both answers above me are on the right track. Can't tell without knowing. Parts for an old BMW are going to be more than for an old Honda. Buying used parts from a salvage yard is an effective way to control costs. I could get all of those parts for an old Japanese bike at my local guy for about 5 or 10 bucks apiece.
The tread life on the sport-touring tires are close to twice what you've been getting, usually around 8K or so depending. I run the Michelin Anakee 3 on my big dual-sport, they have a pretty good grip in most all conditions and wear well. You may want to look at the Michelin Road Pilot 3 for your Busa, heard they are great tires. Good luck.
