I'm driving a '96 Dodge Ram B2500 van, 5.2L V8, 4-speed tranny. Removing the radiator obviously made me lose some transmission fluid (Barely any out the fittings, but some was inside the radiator itself).
oh you should be ok bu check your fluid level while the vehicle is in park and running and warmed up if its a little low then put just a little bit in about a guarter of a quirt at a time and check it then
You can check the level of the transmission fluid in the engine bay, while the engine is warmed up to operating temperature. I imagine you'd have to add more, and would reccommend changine the transmission fluid altogether.
The radiator holds about a half pint of transmission fluid. Check your handbook, it will tell you how to check the fluid level. Normally the level is checked this way; Get the transmission to its normal operatig temperature (after driving ten miles or more). Move the selector lever through all positions (this makes sure all of the transmission has fluid in all the oilways) leaving it in park, keep the engine running while you do this. With the engine still running remove the transmission dipstick, wipe it with a lint free cloth then replace it, take it out again and add the CORRECT transmission oil to bring the lvel to the full hot mark. Hope this helps.
