i was thinking of buying an 89‘ caprice but the exhaust needs to be replaced from the manifold back. I was thinking how much it would cost to replace it and get dual exhaust.

It'll run you a pretty penny. I'd look into a bolt on, and compare it w/your local mechanic/exhaust shop. Sometimes they can do it for cheaper from raw materials as opposed to a magnaflow bolt on setup. A cat back system for my g6 will cost $800 b4 install. Just for a bit of comparison. Depending on how bad the exhaust is, you might b able to repair certain portions of it to last you a while longer.
Call a custom exauhst place in your area and get prices. Call several shops and find out the average price. DUH this one is a no brainer
