I want to audition for a preforming arts high school for acting but I'm not sure how I should audition. Like should I prepare a monologue, should I get a monologue from a famous play? Please help
In the case of my performing arts school, we were required to prepare a monologue, and song. In terms of choosing wither of these things, it is wise to pick something from a play/musical that you like most importantly. If you don't connect with your monologue or song, the people you're auditioning for will be able to see it. When you do choose, make sure you research your show and find out as much about the character as possible. That way you dont sing a song like I'm Shy from Once Upon a Mattress, as a shy girl. Have fun with it and break a leg!
