When first entering the house, I can sometimes smell the fumes of the pilot lights of the stoveSomeone suggestedturning them downMaybe the pilot for the oven too.
1Preheat the oven to 350 levels FahreneheitSpray the rimmed baking pan with the cooking spray to hinder the hen from sticking2Position the bird on the cutting boardMaking use of the knife, reduce the chook breasts in 1/2 horizontallyThis will likely cut back the cooking time as well as enabling the flavors to penetrate the meat higher3Trim any extra fat from the chicken breast halves4Location the fowl breast halves onto the greased baking panLiberally season the meat utilizing salt, pepper and garlic powder5Slide the pan into the oven and set the oven timer to twenty minutes6Investigate if the hen is cooked correctly through chopping into the thickest component to the breast with an additional knife than used for halving the breastsIf there's obvious pink, return the hen to the oven for five minutes or except there no red is obvious.
You should get a meat thermometer, the breast should read at least 160 degreesOh yeah, if you cook chicken breast too long, it will get tough, dry and stringyIf it is cooked just right, you can easily cut it with a fork.
Pilot lights can be adjusted I have done this many times.Lift the top of the stove and follow the two Aluminum tubes from the pilots back to where they both come together there will be a small screw that you screw in clockwise to turn them down.On some stoves this screw is under a piece of tin that runs across the front of the stove,There will be a very small hole that you can put a small screwdriver through. The screw never seems to be directly under the hole and takes a bit of fishing to find the screw slot. The oven pilot can also be adjusted same as above follow the Aluminum tubing back til you find the adjustment screw. The oven has a primary and secondary pilot the primary is the standing pilot and when you turn the oven on the pilot gets larger [secondary pilot] and heats a thermocouple up which allows the main gas valve to turn on.If you adjust the oven pilot down too low the secondary pilot will not heat the thermocouple enough and the main burner will not turn on so you will have to check this when adjusting.
Next time don't do oil on topYou did fine baking and the temp Next time: bake at 425 for 45 minutesAt 30 minutes, add water and foil over the top to steam and also flip the chicken or turnThat way you have better heat on all the ckn sides You could eat it cold on salad or reheat on skillet and slice into strips.
