Question:

How to bake ribs in oven?

How long should I bake beef chuck western style ribs in the oven at 375 degrees? Maybe an hour and a half or 2 hours? Should I place them on aluminum foil in a dish and then cover them with aluminum foil also? I m going to season them before cooking and then add the bbq towards the last 30 mins of cookingShould I use peanut oil or vegetable oil to coat the ribs before putting them in the oven so they won t dry out? The ribs have been cut in half so the are really not thick.

i cook brisket all the time in my smokeri let it cook at around 200 to 250 degrees and add hickory smoke to iti cook it for at least 18 hoursdon't use the hickory smoke for the whole time thoughuse the smoke for the first 6 to 8 hoursit's possible to get too much smoke flavorit will char black and look burntthat's okbecause when you slice it against the grain it will look great and taste even bettertry to slice it thin, use a sharp knifethe outside of each slice will be black and the red smoked part known as candy will permeate into the meatbtw, i always use a good rub on the meat firstyou can look rubs up on the Internet and find one that appeals to youi usually cook a 15 to 20 pound briskethope this helps, chef Paul
