im adding some cooling rails on my snowmobile that would fit along side my foot boardsi need to bent the railsthey are made of hollow aluminumi was wondering how cani do this without cracking iti only need to bend it about 3/4 of an inch.
Yes, you can heat it up and bend itRemember also that aluminium has a very low melting point so be very careful if you use this methodI have had great luck with filing the tube with sand then bend itThe sand helps to keep it from colapsing and or breakingJust be sure to clean it out well before you go any further.
